Thirty-five years ago – a lifetime – I first came to Ireland. Surrounded by sublime scenery I found ordinary towns, ordinary life, ordinary places.

Organic growth and little planning. The antithesis of my home country The Netherlands.

These towns have a sense of ownership, affection, belonging and endurance.
